For twenty years, my world was shaped by the rhythm of the nail industry. I spent two decades perfecting a craft, making people's hands and feet look fabulous, and building relationships with amazing clients who I genuinely love.
But before that chapter ever began, my life looked a little different.
I was born and raised in Poland, and I treasured my life there—especially my hometown of Kraków. To this day, I still have family there, along with friends I've known for years who feel more like family.
So how did I end up across the ocean?
Well, one day while visiting my cousin in America, I met her neighbor.
Looking back, I realize that coming to America for a vacation and accidentally falling in love with your cousin's neighbor is either a great plot for a movie—or a warning label.
At 25, I made a life-altering decision. I packed up my entire life into two suitcases and moved to America to be with the love of my life.
The plot twist?
I barely spoke English.
My vocabulary mostly consisted of pointing at things, smiling, and nodding vigorously while hoping for the best.
Somehow, I figured it out.
Over time, I learned the language pretty well—although my husband still tries very hard not to laugh every time I casually drop the phrase, "This is bullshit!" into a conversation.
Fast-forward twelve years of marriage and two wonderful boys, and I'm still deeply in love with him. Probably because, by now, he's learned how to survive a strong-willed, hyperactive, "do-it-now" Polish woman who wants everything done yesterday.
So how did I get from Kraków and nails to yoga and wellness?
Long before the salon days, I spent years dancing ballet, and I loved every minute of it. That love for movement, posture, and body awareness never really left me.
Eventually, I found my way to yoga.
And now here I am.
A former ballet dancer and nail technician with almost no digital experience, trying to build a wellness business on the internet.
Naturally, I thought: How hard could it be?
Let me tell you.
Yesterday, I spent a solid forty minutes trying to crop one single photo and almost retired from the internet.
I am learning how to build a digital business from scratch. I'm figuring out technology, pushing myself way outside my comfort zone, and making a lot of it up as I go.
And you know what?
It's hilarious.
It's frustrating.
And it's completely okay.
I don't want to show up here as some polished, untouchable wellness robot who has everything figured out.
Because I don't.
I'm learning.
I'm making mistakes.
I'm occasionally yelling at my computer.
And I'm building something anyway.
That's what Ashra Yoga is really about for me.
Not perfection.
Not having the perfect body, the perfect routine, or the perfect plan.
It's about recognizing that little voice inside you that says, Maybe there's something more for me.
Maybe you've been doing the same thing for years and you're ready for something different.
Maybe you have a dream you've been putting off because you don't know where to start.
Maybe you're terrified.
Maybe you're completely clueless.
Maybe you're 25.
Maybe you're 50.
Maybe you're somewhere in between.
You don't need to have it all figured out before you begin.
I certainly didn't.
I just started.
So if you're standing at the beginning of something new and wondering whether you're too old, too inexperienced, too scared, or simply too clueless to do it— come sit with me.
We'll figure it out as we go.
Welcome to Ashra Yoga. 🌿 I'm glad you're here.
